Congratulations to Patience Wood of Bebington Archers on being selected to represent GB at the European Indoor Archery Championships 2022 in Lasko Slovenia 14-19 February. Patience who only turned 15 in December was the only under 18 archer to achieve the selection scores. At the Junior National Indoors Patience Achieved Individual Bronze in the H2H’s and then shot in the Seniors the following day coming joint 17th and making it through to the H2H’s narrowly losing on a 1 arrow shoot off in her first match. This follows on from some great outdoor achievements in the summer when Patience was first selected to shoot for GB in the European Youth Cup 2021 in Bucharest 2-7 August and won a team bronze. Patience broke many Cheshire Target Records including 3 National Target Records. She won Gold to become Ladies Under 16 Compound National Champion, won Individual bronze at the Youth Festival and Individual bronze at the Junior Masters. Patience has not only shot as a Junior but as a Senior and attended many National Tour events, at Stage 1 Bucks or Bounty Compound Bonus Day Patience won a close H2H Match against Para Olympian Phoebe Paterson Pine to win individual bronze. Patience overall finished 20th in the Tour Standings which is an outstanding achievement for someone who was only 14 at the time. She came 3rd in the Junior Compound National Rankings and 21st in the Senior Compound National Rankings. These are just some of the many highlights of last year. These Achievements have not come easy to Patience, and It has been my privilege to be one of the people along with her Parents, Archery Family, Friends, and other Coaches who have helped and support her. She really is inspirational and is a wonderful example of what you can achieve in our sport with hard work and dedication. Well Done Patience and Good Luck from all Cheshire Archery Association members. Lee Padmore Cheshire County Coach Bebington Archers
